Care & Refinishing

Wood is a living material — it breathes, ages, and changes character over time, especially when it lives near salt air and sun. A little care keeps it looking sharp for years.

How often should I refinish?
For pieces kept indoors, a light refinish every 12–18 months is usually enough. If your piece is exposed to direct sun, humidity, or coastal air, we recommend refinishing every 6–12 months to protect the wood and keep the finish looking fresh.

How long does it take?
A simple refresh — a light sand and a coat of oil or wax — usually takes 1–2 hours and can easily be done at home. No need to send anything back to us.

How do I refinish it myself?
Lightly sand the surface with fine-grit sandpaper, wipe away the dust, and apply a thin coat of natural oil or wax, letting it soak in before buffing off the excess. Reach out and we're happy to send you our full care guide with product recommendations.
